Winter Sun destinations from Prestwick Airport                        July 29 2009

Ryanair today announced a string of new winter-sun destinations from Scotland.

Flights from Glasgow Prestwick to Alicante, Arrecife, Las Palmas and Palma begin in October this year and to Ibiza from March next year.

In addition to the five new routes the Irish carrier is increasing the frequency on flights to Faro, Malaga and Tenerife South.

Director of new route development Ken O'Toole said: "Ryanair is delighted to announce five new sun routes and increased frequencies on three routes to and from Glasgow Prestwick Airport, which will allow us to bring more low fares, more competition and choice to even more Scottish consumers and visitors.

"All 11 sun routes are on sale now for flights till June 30, 2010, allowing passengers to book the guaranteed lowest fares for this winter and next summer."

To mark the announcement one million £1 seats have been released for travel in September and October.
